Well, 2017 has certainly proven to be interesting so far. Most people were staying up to see 2016 end as it was just so awful, it couldn’t end fast enough, only to usher in one of the absolutely worst presidents and unqualified administration of our time and it’s only been 3 days. In those 3 days he’s done more damage than my 6 year old can do to her bedroom if given a marker and carte blanche on the walls.

Yeah, yeah, I’m supposed to give him time. Things could improve. Just be patient. Um….. no. That is what they want. Us to sit back, don’t question, don’t stand up for yourself or others and just go with the flow. I physically can’t do that. Not with this President. Outside of being so thin skinned he can’t handle an SNL impersonation or the proof of actual facts, he actually requested tanks for his parade and named his inauguration day a National Day of Patriotism. Sounds a little dictatorship in my book.

What a joke our country has become. I’m embarrassed and ashamed of us as a whole. We allowed this to happen. I know that I myself did my part as best as I could to avoid this outcome, but I’m just one and sadly, this election really showed the true colors of many people and I’m still coming to terms with it. It’s one thing to have your candidate lose, it’s happened to all of us and we all lived. However, the winning candidate wasn’t a threat to basic rights and the safety of the citizens.

What I saw on Saturday, January 21, 2017 in Washington D.C. with my own eyes and ears, was pure brilliance. 500,000 women, men and children of all races, sexual orientations and color gathered in a march so large that for a while it didn’t move. And it was peaceful. What was even more amazing was the support given around the world and the country in support of our basic human rights.

Yes, Welcome Mr. President. We hope you enjoy the view.

Countries that are denied more than we are in freedoms found a way to support us and that should send a message. This administration won’t even accept that this march was as large as it was, despite hard evidence. It’s going to take a lot more noise.

Unfortunately, we are going to have to be louder than those who think they just voted in the guy who will Make America Great again for them. A man-child who has a serious issue with parodies, preys on women, and doesn’t pay taxes. When was America great again? Oh yeah, now I remember, when the President wasn’t black and women were submissive, gays didn’t exist, and marriage was only for one type of couple. The thing is, nothing was changing that would honestly hurt them, they just didn’t like it. America was moving forward and they could not accept it. It wasn’t right, not how it always has been. Blah Blah Blah.

They spit out the word Christian like it means anything anymore. If anyone of them was truly a Christian, we would not be fighting for equal rights and the betterment of everyone. This is not a game. God is not in charge, real people are.

I for one will make sure that I am not sitting back and watching this country go back to the dark ages and to a time of complacent females and domineering men making all the decisions. I have more integrity than that. Together we are stronger, divided we fall.
